Damages have been awarded to a food production worker represented by Thompsons NI Solicitors and Unite Legal Services.
The Unite member was pressure washing the production floor of his workplace with a water jet when he tripped over a metal drain cover. The cover was not easily visible due to the steam and water spray from the pressure washer.
The incident caused a severe ankle sprain and swelling, and due to the nature of his role, the worker was unable to go to work for six weeks.
The employer denied responsibility and even suggested that the worker had placed the drain there himself.
The worker instructed Thompsons NI Solicitors and Unite Legal Services to pursue a personal injury claim on his behalf, who successfully secured compensation.
The client said: “I was very pleased with the service I received and I would recommend Thompsons NI and Unite Legal Services to family and friends.”
