Injured operative wins damages with help from Thompsons NI Solicitors

The personal injury team at Thompsons NI Solicitors have secured compensation for an employee of a large manufacturing company who was injured at work.

The machine operator had been working at a large sanding machine where he had been grinding metal sheets. He was then required to smooth the edge with a smaller machine in a different area of the building. While making his way to the other machine, the worker fell against a sharp edge injuring his right elbow. The fall was caused by steel valve pallets that had been left in the walkway with no alternative safe route.

The injury required stiches at the emergency department of the local hospital and pain increased for the following weeks after the incident. Due to the nature of his work, the client was absent from work for a period of time. 

The worker, who had over 30 years’ experience at the company, instructed Thompsons NI Solicitors to pursue a personal injury claim on their behalf. Thompsons NI Solicitors secured compensation for the worker’s injuries and the company have since kept the walkways clear by removing the pallets.
