Library attendant compensated for back injury

Thompsons NI Solicitors has secured damages for an employee who was injured after being required to transport heavy furniture. He was supplied with a trolley designed to carry small items of post.

While attempting to get the furniture through a doorway the employee had to tilt the trolley. This caused him to drop his arms and crouch down on the floor, taking the weight of a heavy cabinet on his arms and back.

The employer has since introduced proper equipment designed to transport such heavy and bulky objects. The operative will no longer be required to take the weight.
